Reservoir Ridge Natural Area
The northern end of the Foothills Trail: about five miles of soft-surface trail on the ridge, with an easy 1.4-mile flat trail from the Overland Trail lot. Free; open 5 am to 11 pm, gated lots dawn to dusk.
About five miles of natural-surface trail for hikers, bikes and horses at the north end of the 9.6-mile Foothills Trail, with an easy, flat 1.4-mile trail that connects to the Michaud Spur for anyone not after a climb; the City says the Foothills Trail itself is for the experienced cyclist. Wildlife viewing, picnic tables, seasonal restrooms and horse-trailer parking at the Overland Trail lot; the Primrose Studio here is a wheelchair-accessible venue for hire. Dogs on leash. The natural area is open 5 am to 11 pm, but the gated parking lots open only dawn to dusk.
