The park around Sheldon Lake on West Mulberry Street: City Park Pool, an outdoor pool with a 30-foot waterslide; fishing on the lake; the nine-hole, par-36 City Park Nine golf course; four permanent lighted pickleball courts, tennis, basketball, volleyball, horseshoe pits, ball fields with bleachers, a playground and a fitness course. The City’s Independence Day celebration is held here, and the Recreation Department’s pottery studio is in the park. Shelter #7 holds 150 and can be reserved. Parking off Mountain Avenue and Oak Street near the ball fields, with more by the golf course. Open daily 5 am to 11 pm.
