The Gardens on Spring Creek

The City's 12-acre botanic garden on Spring Creek, with a tropical Butterfly House, themed gardens, summer concerts, Pumpkins on Parade in October and Garden of Lights in winter. Adults $12.50, children and 65-plus $10.50; closed Thursdays.

Twelve acres of curated gardens run by the City on Centre Avenue, with a Butterfly House in a tropical setting, Pard Morrison’s ten Chromatecture sculptures, and a paved main loop of just over half a mile that is wheelchair accessible (a chair can be borrowed free, first come first served). The year runs on events: the Spring Plant Sale, the Live at The Gardens summer concerts, Pumpkins on Parade (October 22 to 25 this year), Garden of Lights, and the Northern Colorado Bonsai Show.

Open Monday to Wednesday and Friday 10 to 5, weekends 9 to 5, closed Thursdays and on July 4, Thanksgiving and the day after, Christmas Eve and Day, and New Year’s Eve and Day; the site lists these as summer hours, so check it in winter. Admission $12.50 for adults, $10.50 for ages 2 to 17, seniors 65 and over and military, members free. Free parking in the lot off Centre Avenue and along Botanical Lane. Only trained service animals inside.
